Why is Mythology important?

The importance of Philippine mythology is really visible especially for the ancestors. Mythology gave them a grasp of direction and of what made them able to understand the world and explicated everything- from the origin of mankind to the existence of disease. It was not just a feeling of being sure that something exists or true in invisible higher beings. This mythology defined what ancestors were supposed to do and who they were.
