Mythological Creatures! Horror or hoax?

We often hear mysterious and thrilling stories from our ancestors about those of what we call the 'engkanto' or 'kakaibang nilalang', creatures that we believe truly exist with us in this world of horror and hoaxes. There are the 'Kapres', 'Bakunawa', 'Tiyanak', 'Manananggal', 'Tikbalang', and the most common told 'Aswang'. We also had lots of movies and series on television which involves these creatures, capturing our mind and engraving these horror stories within ourselves creating fear which makes up hoaxes. Although unproven, there are personal experiences which caught our interest, putting an evidence in this belief. Just like when my mother was pregnant, there was something heavily breathing under our house (our house had a 'silong' back then) and we saw this big dog which had he most terrifying eyes we've ever seen. It was as if it was smelling something delicious from our house which made it salivate. My father quickly got the 'buntot ng pagi' which they believe to send away the 'aswang'.
